"A really nice singer-songwriter release by a local boy. In addition to working mighty hard on his own music, Dave puts a tremendous amount of himself into organizing a wonderful house concert series in nearby Davis. But, on this release, it's his opportunity to shine, and he does well in the spotlight. Dave has a strong voice, is a great acoustic player (and plays half a dozen other instruments here as well) and writes good, moving songs. At his best telling stories in song, on this release you get to hear of a Wall Street guy finding himself falling in love with a gypsy, a tramp philosopher, the sole resident of a lonely town, a firewoman (and her lonely cat), and Dave's own great story of playing 'Freight Train' with Elizabeth Cotten when he was nine years old! Some of Davis' musical luminaries provide backing to add to the depth and strength of the arrangments."
