Before a student can start to "check-off" their Second Quarter musicianship
requirements, they must have
completed all of the previous First Quarter requirements...
In addition to those requirements, students must have performed #81 in
the "TIPPS" method book, and #'s 3, 4, 5, & 6, on page 25 of the Belwin
First Division, Part 2 book for a grade. Again, these 2 requirements have
to be played perfectly in order for students to start their Second Quarter
"check offs'"
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE AN "A" IN MUSICIANSHIP FOR THE SECOND
QUARTER A STUDENT MUST
Play EIGHT scales, of which FOUR must be from memory, up and down at m.m.
[quarter note]=120
Play FOUR arpeggio types in the "TIPPS" book (ie. #28, 15, 54, etc.) If
you "checked-off" #28 before, you do not need to play it again and can
count it as one of your four that has to be done

in "TIPPS" back cover
Play #101, plus any two of the following - #102,103, or 104
"Check-off" any music given by the instructor. (A letter grade will be
given for this requirement.)

Fridays for one-third of your grade. (If absent Friday, turn in the

at least 100 minutes. Extra minutes may be added for extra credit and can
be used for any weeks practice minutes not previously turned in. YOU CAN

This means different things to different students...If you don't know what
a perfect student does in class, ask Mr. Gonzalez.
