Sonic Fire Extinguishing--No Water! Sonic fire extinguishing uses low-frequency sound waves To suppress flames by disrupting the oxygen supply. Former NASA engineers began installing such systems In California houses in 2025-2026. The system uses infrasound (below 20 Hz), which is inaudible to humans. The pressure waves separate oxygen from the fuel source And thus prevent combustion. Current systems create a 'non-ignition zone' up to 30 feet. This prevents embers (causing 90% of house loss) from starting fires.. Technology for managing massive forest fires remains a challenge.
