Special Needs Trusts

How can you (or another member of your family) leave money for a relative with mental illness without making them ineligible to receive public benefits such  SSI, Medicaid, etc? A Special Needs Trust could be a solution.  See the NAMI 2015 Convention workshop presentation and Special Needs Alliance newsletter feature articles for more information.

2015 NAMI NATIONAL SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST PRESENTATIONS.

SPECIAL NEEDS ALLIANCE

The Special Needs Alliance is a national, non-profit organization committed to helping individuals with disabilities, their families and the professionals who serve them. Many of member attorneys have family members with special needs; all of them work regularly with public benefits, guardianships/conservatorships, planning for disabilities and special education issues. They volunteer significant time to the special needs community and advocate for legislative and regulatory change to improve quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
